Animals, Nature & Life
Animals That Feel
I met this polar bear in a natural history museum. This male bear was hunted on Baffin Island in the 1980s. I was moved to honor this bear‘s life in a painting that piqued my curiosity enough to actually go see polar bears in their natural habitat. KARE 11 News in Minneapolis followed my journey in a segment they did on Climate Change in the Churchill, Canada.
Flora That Flourish
The somber Seattle winters inspired the flowers series. I wanted to fill my home with the warm abundant colors of spring to lift my spirits and keep hope alive. I fell in love with the lacey petals of the hibiscus I saw in Hawaii.
Scarves That Dance
If scarves were alive, they would be dancing. There is something fun about the flow of the material that is joyful. Turn on the music, grab a scarf and have fun! Singing and dancing is all part of being in my studio, my happy place.
